Republicans John McCain and Sarah Palin accused the Los Angeles Times on Wednesday of protecting Barack Obama by withholding a videotape of the Democrat attending a 2003 party for a Palestinian-American professor and critic of Israel.

Desperate - desperate people - McCain and Palin need to be put in time-out chairs. "Hey, McCain - put your big boy pants on and get over it!" You have done NOTHING but throw out any accusation you can rather than show us any decent plans on handling the issues we face today....you are a shadow of the man you were just ten years ago. sad, really sad.

I guess you are just def to anything that isn't pro Obama

So if this is so desperate for McCain and Palin then what is the big deal!!!
Release the tape!!!
- 20 votes
Where is the tape of 6-Pack Palin opening the AIP this year?
I would also like to see more of the tape of 6-Pack Palin rousing her rally rabble to shouts of KILL HIM and SIT DOWN BOY
Palin feeds and encourages the underbelly of America -- the KKK and the neo-Nazis
I do not want those elements encouraged
Hate need to be healed in this country - - not fed and led
How could any decent person support her? That is a sincere question
When I see Palin, with all the investigations against her; the book banning incident; the way she fires and retaliates against anyone who says no to her; her lies; her dishonesty and her hypocrisy; her negative family values (no, it is not ok to get pregnant and quit high school); and the way she has divided this country, now her party and her own campaign
I think "this is what decent people must have felt like in Germany watching Hitler"
Palin is a danger to America
- 46 votes
I thought McCain said "We got them where we want them", so why now he need more negative attacks. Or is that just a slogan. Will be happy when election ova , cuz I tried of the crap....The more McCain goes negative the more the polls go in Obama favour. So release it.
- 20 votes
the SOURCE doesn't want the tape spread because it might lead to the identity of the source so the newspaper is obligated to respect it. The second the press start releasing sources for nonsense like this is the second people stop talking to the press. So unless there is something criminal going on, of course they aren't going to release a tape that republicans are going to butcher to death. McCain should know better.

I agree with you about the hate thing but its on all sides, dressing up a life sized doll as Palin and hanging it from a noose on a house in Sacramento, I think that everyone needs to chill on the hate on BOTH sides, it just goes to show you that politics in general is the root cause of most of this countries problems. I think the people that hang these dolls regardless of who it is (Palin or Obama), should grow up, if people don't put their emotions out of this whole thing, it will not matter who wins, the country will rip itself apart

In the rural Teoc community of Carroll County, Miss., where the ancestors of Sen. John McCain owned enslaved Africans on a plantation, black, white and mixed-race family members unite every two years for their Coming Home Reunion, on the land where the plantation operated.
Some of McCain’s black family members say they are not sure exactly where they fall on the family tree, but they do know this: They are either descendants of the McCain family slaves, or of children the McCains fathered with their slaves.
White and black members of the McCain family have met on the plantation several times over the last 15 years, but one invited guest has been conspicuously absent: Sen. John Sidney McCain.
“Why he hasn’t come is anybody’s guess,” said Charles McCain Jr., 60, a distant cousin of John McCain who is black. “I think the best I can come up with, is that he doesn’t have time, or he has just distanced himself, or it doesn’t mean that much to him.”
Other relatives are not as generous.
Lillie McCain, 56, another distant cousin of John McCain who is black, said the Republican presidential nominee is trying to hide his past, and refuses to accept the family’s history.
“After hearing him in 2000 claim his family never owned slaves, I sent him an email,” she recalled. “I told him no matter how much he denies it, it will not make it untrue, and he should accept this and embrace it.”
She said the senator never responded to her email.
Although Charles is uncertain who will get his vote for president, several of John McCain’s black and white relatives are supporting his Democratic rival, Sen. Barack Obama.
“I am absolutely supporting Obama, and it’s not because he’s black. It’s because he is the best person at this time in our history,” said Lillie McCain, a professor of psychology at Mott Community College in Flint, Michigan.
“We simply need to look at the economy, and McCain’s campaign does not take us there,” said Joyce McCain, Lillie’s sister, a retired engineering manager with General Motors who lives in Grand Blanc, Michigan. “He is my cousin, but we are in dire times right now and people are hurting. Sen. Obama is clearly the best choice to be president.’’
The McCain campaign did not respond to repeated questions about John McCain’s black relatives, or about his relatives of both races who support Obama.

Who cares!
Quote from Article "Khalidi has publicly criticized Israel, but he and Obama have both said they hold very different opinions on Israeli issues."
I have had a few friends with weird ideas too. Some are Christian right wingers who think it is OK to bomb abortion clinics. I don't agree with them.
Unlike narrow minded ideologues, I enjoy the company of people with different views. It challenges my thinking.
Bottom-Line: McCain, Palin, Republicans, and Focus on the Family are desperate.

Joe effigies are a time honored tradition in America
a political statement is a far far far cry from inciting crowds to shouts of KILL HIM
when the west hollywood homeowner stages a rally that leads to an attempted murder plot then we are talking hate crime
until then Palin still holds the record for hate crimes in the campaign
and BTW the web just in -- effigy of Obama hung too now so what do you say to that? I say the same thing -- an effigy is a time honored.....

and I have yet to hear Obama rally attendees shout KILL HIM or SIT DOWN BOY
Obama does not lead those sort of rallies and he would not tolerate it
one of many reasons i am voting for the light and the hope and not the dark and the divisive hate

Where is Palin's health records she said she would release? Where is Palin's emails she wanted 15 million to release? I think there is important issues brought up here and it is deceit on Mccain's party. Palin's trial records are being withheld and sealed. Deceit! We have to wait until after to find out she is a twice convicted criminal? Mccain tape of him at ACORN functions partying up. We can see Bush is ready to sit down and work something out with the Taliban so what if Obama was at this event. McBush did you hear me? Your fundraising buddy is sitting down with the Taliban!

Maga, I totally agree. Here it is, less than a week before the election and all McShame and the Pig with Lipstick can do is toss dirt. HEY, DUFUS, IT'S THE ECONOMY STUPID!!! What are YOU, McShame, going to do to fix this economic crisis we are NOW experiencing???
Grow up, Little Johnny, get over it. I know, wanna toss dirt? How about trying to explain Moosie Girl's problems in Alaska? Abuse of power, and God only knows what else. Seems Obama/Biden are too busy explaining positions and demonstrating plans to fix the many things wrong with this Country, thanks to YOU and your butt hole buddy King George II and Bid Dick. Tell us all something we care about knowing, not this nit picking nonsense that those backed into a corner with nowhere to turn resort to. Looks like the writing may be on the wall, Johnny Boy. Don't panic now, OK? Trying to make issues where there are none, shows the true Goof Ball you really are and only makes you look less and less presidential.

"McCain also has ties to Khalidi through a group that Khalidi helped found 15 years ago. The Center for Palestine Research and Studies has received more than $800,000 from an organization that McCain chairs."
So what is the beef here?
- 10 votes
McCain funded Khalidi in the 1990s. Khalidi was an academic member of the negotiating team that helped bring the Palestinians and Israelis together to sign the Paris Peace Accord. McCain/Palin are flailing around insulting the good name of people left right and center just because of their arabic ancestry. DISGUSTING.
During the 1990s, while he served as chairman of the International Republican Institute (IRI), McCain distributed several grants to the Palestinian research center co-founded by Khalidi, including one worth half a million dollars.
A 1998 tax filing for the McCain-led group shows a $448,873 grant to Khalidi's Center for Palestine Research and Studies for work in the West Bank. (See grant number 5180, "West Bank: CPRS" on page 14 of this PDF.)
The relationship extends back as far as 1993, when John McCain joined IRI as chairman in January. Foreign Affairs noted in September of that year that IRI had helped fund several extensive studies in Palestine run by Khalidi's group, including over 30 public opinion polls and a study of "sociopolitical attitudes."

Oh yes, McCain's 90% vote with the Bush Administration policies!!!!
These are the REAL ISSUES......

I can't speak for the rest of you, but I am totally over all of the negativity. Senator McCain's IRI gave Khalidi's group over $800,000. Senator Obama attended a party. Complete details were released over six months ago by the newspaper. I don't understand why this is an issue now.

How utterly devoid of substance has the GOP arguement become across the whole field. This along with Elizabeth Dole's new ad just show the Republican Party devolving back to its base of whine and smear. That policy is turning out more voters for Obama at the moment than Obama is himself. More Republicans are voting Democratic by the day as they tire of these sleazy tactics.
Sure glad I'm not working with the small and petty McCain. Life must be hell around him this week as he fails to gain traction with any of his lies, mischaracterizations, and distractions. It has not escaped us that while Obama speaks to the future of the nation and of all citizens being Americans, McCain starts almost every sentence of every rally with "Senator Obama" and can only attempt to drag his Senate colleague down. It speaks volumes to Obama's character that he can appear to ignore these hurtful and misleading words and continue with his message of HOPE!!
Seeing Michelle with Jay Leno Monday night again displayed her class [I'd forgotten that she's an attorney also]; and I look forward to her being an involved and gracious First Lady.

Why do people ignore the fact that McCain's group gave Khalidi's group over $800.000? Because McCain forgot it!! He is so out of it that he's trying to sink his own ship! What a joke. And I read this afternoon that a university in Kentucky is apologizing for someone hanging an effigy of Obama on their campus. This is the second one of Obama that I've heard about, and yet everyone is screaming about the one of Palin. I will just be glad when this mess is over with and we can get on with getting things back together in this country.

I have to wonder just how many red flags the american public is going to get. We are running out of time and obama is lit up like a christmas tree with all these red flags, yet all we here are exscuses or misdirection by both them and the media. Journalism is dead in this country. They are not supposed to take sides or 'make' the news. They are just supposed to report it and let the public decide. That doesn't happen anymore these days. Its a sad thing. The first step in state controlled media and the loss of our freedom of speech. All hail the fairness doctrine, first decree of the new fascist socialists.

Pathetic, hello? McCain has his own ties as reported by the Huffington Press:
During the 1990s, while he of the International Republican Institute (IRI), McCain distributed several grants to the Palestinian research center co-founded by Khalidi, including one worth half a million dollars.
A 1998 tax filing for the McCain-led group shows a $448,873 grant to Khalidi's Center for Palestine Research and Studies for work in the West Bank. (See grant number 5180, "West Bank: CPRS" on page 14 of .)

Foreign Affairs noted in September of that year that IRI had helped fund several extensive studies in Palestine run by Khalidi's group, including over 30 public opinion polls and a study of "sociopolitical attitudes."
Of course, there's seemingly nothing objectionable with McCain's organization helping a Palestinian group conduct research in the West Bank or Gaza. But it does suggest that McCain could have some of his own explaining to do as he tries to make hay out of Khalidi's ties to Obama.

Desperation, thy name is John McCain. One thing you've got to give McCain credit for--he's going to play the fear card down to the final wire. The real shame for McCain is that he has nothing positive to sell the American people about himself, so all he can do is try to "unsell" Obama. Maverick? American hero? No way.

I agree. There's a lot of dispicable acts coming from both parties. The big difference is where within the parties it's coming from. On the Dem's side, you see it coming from a few of their supporters. But on the Rep's side, you often see it coming from the candidates themselves.

Here's what I don't get; McCain says that Obama doesn't have what it takes to protect against threats like Bin Laden...if that's the case, and McCain says he has a plan to capture Bin Laden, why doesn't he put it into action....why is he holding in it reserve until (if) he obtains the presidency? If he doesn't win, will he "take his plan and go home?" Wouldn't the capture of Bin Laden boost his poll numbers...he needs all the help he can get...so what's the deal?
- 4 votes
I think because McCain opens every sentence with "Obama this/that", he (McCain) has given Obama free marketing on every scale.
McCain says Obama more than the people at the dem rallies! Maybe he says Obama so much his own party has it "pounded" in their heads when they go vote(ha ha McCain). He should have thought it out and realized that if he said his own name more it wouldn't sound as if he had no substance other than "attacks" on Obama.
John McCain supporting nothing, everything, all, none, left, right, up, down, sideways and all the inbetween's.....the guy has diluted everything he supposedly stands for.
We dont need a video tape to prove it, because tomorrow he will be supporting something else.
This guy can barely support his own pointer-finger without wondering if he should support his other three fingers in case they pay out first....so he just sticks all his fingers up and doesn't know whats going on (oh the turmoil).
I think suspense is the only reason this article was written...numbers.... a game of numbers for the media.

I would love to see a national broadcast (ABC, CBS, NBC and not the cable affiliates) of the video of Palin's 'witch doctor' Muthee blessing her to help her to keep her safe from witchcraft or her taped opening speech to Alaskan Independence Party's convention earlier this year. The AIP advocates Alaska's succeesion from the union and her and her 'Dude' have been active in the AIP for years. C'mon.. her and McCain are nasty. God forbid they win next Tuesday.

"It must be nice for a candidate to have major news organizations looking out for their best interests like that. Politicians would love to have a pet newspaper of their very own," she said. (Palin)
FOX news channel isn't enough? Now that the more intelligent of the Republican base have fled, do they think the illiterate and ignorant remainder are capable of reading a newspaper? Dream On.
This is far more important:
Grove Parc Plaza; A sign of things to come in Barack’s America
So if this is so desperate for McCain and Palin then what is the big deal!!!
Release the tape!!!
If you think this is no big deal, I'll go you one better! I will personally encourage the Democrat Party and all the Democrats I know and make a suggestion on Obama's web page to get Obama to release this tape. IF you will personally encourage the Republican Party and all the Republicans that you know and go to McCain's web site and make the suggestion for him to unseal and release his POW Records. Is that a deal Donna-367223 ? Let's find out who the Real John McCain OK???? Just watch the reaction when you suggest it! Don't stand to close to any Republican when you do. LOL!! I will produce evidence of my doing so and you will have to do the same. Can you get your end done and be back here on Friday? #1.2 - Wed Oct 29, 2008 3:23 PM EDT

The owner of the paper is a JEWISH man, do you really think that if Obama was threatening in any way to Israel he would not make that tape known and say to hell with everything else, promises and all?? This Jew would want the world to know!! He would be like WARNING! WARNING OBAMA AIN'T RIGHT! DANGER! DANGER FOR ISRAEL!!! He would have all of Israel protesting Obama, BUT what do we have, we have this JEWISH MAN IN PROSESSION OF TAPE ENDORSING OBAMA!!
The paper has already reported on this tape!
Now as far as not releasing the tape goes, maybe, just maybe there may be others like private citizens at the same gathering that do not want to be made public.
There does not have to be anything wrong with holding this tape, if it was why would they even make us aware of it WAY BACK THEN IN THE FIRST PLACE!??
ENOUGH WITH McCAIN'S DESPERATE SCARE TACTICS, ESPECIALLY WHEN HE IS FAR SCARIER THAN OBAMA!
LIES, LIES AND MORE LIES AND IF THAT DON'T DO IT A @!$%# LOAD OF HALF TRUTHS FOR YA!
JOHN McCAIN,
WHY DON'T YOU JUST GO SOMEWHERE AND CURL UP IN A CORNER AND LET A REAL LEADER LEAD US THROUGH ALL OF THESE FRIGHTENING TIMES YOU KEEP PREDICTING. WE KNOW THINGS ARE BAD AND OUT OF CONTROL AND DON'T NEED SOMEONE THAT IS ALWAYS KEEPING US MORE FEARFUL THAN WE SHOULD BE, IF YOU ARE THIS AFRAID THEN GO SOMEWHERE AND HIDE, BUT EITHER WAY SHUT THE HELL UP ALREADY WITH THE LIES AND PLAYING GAMES WITH AMERICAN'S MIND, WE GOT ENOUGH ON OUR MINDS AT IT IS! WE'RE LOOKING FOR SOLUTIONS AND ACTIONS AND SOMEONE WE CAN TRUST TO LEAD THE WAY NOT SOMEONE THAT REMINDS US OF THE BOY THAT CRIED WOLF ALL THE TIME! BOO!

Obama does not have time for this foolishness, he has an election to win and stay focused on important things rather than follow behind McCain's butt as he s@@@ of pellets of lies prompted by hatred and fear!
For all of you that want to see this tape in order for you to make up your minds rather or not you will vote for Obama, tell that to somebody else, you ain't going to vote for him any way so why waste time with you? If you have not figured McCain out yet, you won't!
Obama supporters get out and vote, vote early if at all possible! We got things to do come November, we got to help President Obama get this mess straighten up, those messy Republicans have left a mess behind and skipped out without cleaning it up!

I agree - McCain has said little about what his plan is for this country. He's always trying to shoot holes in Obama, find some half-baked connection (like being in the same supermarket the day before Easter...or attending the same party).
McCain was a leader in a foundation who also gave a large amount of money to an organization connected with this PLO person (actually a professor). Is he "connected" to this man too?
The right seems to forget that this professor has committed no crimes, and is a law abiding resident of this country. Not everyone is a greeter at WalMart or Joe the Plumber. The right tries to vilify diversity, internationalism of any sort, and anyone with any brains.
For one - I hope McCain heads back to one of his many houses and retires, and Palin heads back to the great white north to her sled dogs. I've not heard this much negativity in a long time - and it wears me out!
If it is no big deal, why not just release it? We all know full well if it were of a Republican at such a dinner, it would be released and re-released over and over again in a heartbeat (whether someone gave permission or not). And the press wouldn't give a hoot about not having the permission to do so.
Besides, who gives the press anything unless they want it broadcasted to everyone and their brother!
Back in the good old days of Usenet, when one could not counter an arguement they started criticizing the other persons spelling. This little whine by McC and Ms. Troopergate are just the political version of that.
McCain will easily win the election. Sorry to pop your bubble.

Funny how McCain/Palin seem only to holler about stuff that happened forever ago.....notice how they convenietly down play their own bad habits and acts from the past.................they insinuate and use conjecture to get folks to make an assumption that is based in "ZERO" fact. McCain/Palin have no honor or integrity................two things that the White House is desparately lacking.
I will take great pleasure when President Obama and Vice President Biden take their oaths of office in Jan 2009.
I hope someone writes a book next year about the "Dynamic McDuo" and sight facts that can easily be accessed by everyone (that means you too, you right wing nuts) so at last everyone will know the truth about the HERO and the BEAUTY QUEEN.
It would make political races better for the voters if laws were enacted that would punish those running for a political office if they knowingly lied or slandered another person.
The voter deserves the truth and if candidates have to be coerced into speaking only the truth then lets give them that incentive.............spending so much time seeking to discover who is telling the truth or not is not how it should be, especially when many have no resources to find out what is truth or what is not.
We should bring ethics to the political landscape...not just to who currently hold the elected offices....but throughout the entire political system.........................lying should be a punishable offense, not an accepted fallacy of our society, when used to win votes to get elected to any public office......
Lying has become such a way of doing business in the political scene that I think we should put laws on the table to styfle it and give the ethics committee more people and money to get this done and clean house............now and forever more. How can trust exist if the accepted default is lying? If my kids lied I COMPELLED them to tell the truth....it was in their best interest to speak the truth....I did punish for lying--and they were just kids...............................so how shameful is it that grown adults who lead our nation at every level need to be compelled to stop lying, need to punished to for vearing from the truth?
Get rid of the lobbyists and enact laws that curtail lying..........enough of this sh*t already. You people need to do your job.

Here is my take on it:
McCain wants the tapes released from a dinner/luncheon for Kahlidi. I haven't hearcd him speak to the millions of dollars of funding given to Kahlidi by the International Republican institute during his watch. Yes he was the chairman at the time.
So Obama attended a function but McCain funded the terrorist. I just don't see why he would keep digging into this. IMHO his groups actions speaks more to supporting terrorism than a speech at a luncheon.

BO is nothing more than an arrogant empty suit. He has run the most destructive campaign in history. I tried to watch his 30 minute ad but his uppity attitude makes me sick. He talks like he is better than the average person. He always talks down to the average family. And the media has his back on every thing he has done in his past. Whenever there is a story about something bad or radical in BO's past it's always passed off as "that's nothing" or "that's old news." BO is a very dangerous person. His extremely radical past is what has shaped his views. We must not let this type of person get in the highest position of power. Just look at all the pro BO comments. In the eyes of his followers he can do NO wrong. This in itself is scary. I mean they believe EVERYTHING he says. No questions asked. Be careful what you wish for people. If you think he will not be after your tax dollars, and I don't care what tax bracket you are in, you have another thing coming. It is never enough for him. Don't you followers find it strange that he tells you about giving 95% of Americans a tax cut but he doesn't tell you how he will pay for it. And if your answer is that he will get it by taxing those who make $250,000 or more you are in for a rude awakening. That is no where near enough money to pay for his radical wealth distributionidea. Have you people never learned that when you give these people more money in Washingto it is never enough. They always want more. Always. And another thing, if you followers want "change" in Washington than you better vote out your current Congress person or current Senator. These are the greedy power hungry people that have ripped this country apart. So don't give me all this "change" talk and then vote the same old person into the same old office. We must clean house. We have no representation as citizens anymore. All we have left is our VOTE. And please don't waste your vote on BO. He has NO experience. And he has been getting donations from over seas radical organizations. He will owe favors to many groups of people that are not friends of ours. In times like this we can't risk our national security. Joe Biden himself guaranteed us that BO will be tested. Just what the hell does he mean by this. That scares me. I don't want our Country to be tested by more attacks against us. I want peace and I want someone who has always put his Country first. And that person is John McCain. Say what you want but McCain will keep us safe. He has no ties to radical people who do not like the United States. As I stated earlier, BO has shaped his views during his college years and ever since, the people he has associated with do not like the U.S.. BO sought these people out. BO has taken their ideas and he wants to bring that radical viewpoint into the White House. He must be stopped.

Just release the damn tape, LA Times! If Obama has nothing to hide about his past then this should amount to nothing. The longer the holdout, the more suspicious things look. I would say the same about a tape or any kind of "evidence" about any of the candidates. If they're clean then it should be like water off of a duck's back.............
- 3 votes
He must be stopped.
Not that I would wish harm to ANY of our elected leaders, even the ones that I vehemently disagree with, but it wouldn't surprise me if some nutjob does in fact stop him. This nation has become way too polarized and there are radicals and unstable people on both sides of the political spectrum. Just make sure you have the "tools" necessary to defend yourself, your family, and your property should this occur. Should something like this happen, there will be those that will be looking to cause chaos and anarchy on a grand scale.
Maybe Todd Palin was right. Secession may be the best thing for this nation to keep us from starting a civil war against each other. Those on the left despise the right for trying to implement their views on them, as the right despises the left for the same thing. By secession, those with liberal views can have their states and those with conservative views can have theirs too. The liberal states can institute their own laws that reflect their belief system as can the conservative states, without the others viewpoints being forced upon the other side against their will. The liberal states can pay for their own policies by taxing those that share their beliefs, just as the conservatives states can tax as they see fit.
It's obvious that we as a nation have digressed to the point that anything short of this will ultimately lead to massive disaster, with nothing left to divide. There are just way too many people that would rather die on their feet than live on their knees, bowing to the other sides political philosophy.
The USSR split up when they went bankrupt. We are $11 trillion in debt and STILL can't balance our budget, much less pay the interest on this debt, much less start knocking the principal off this debt. Maybe it's time that we do as the former USSR did, for all of our sake.

Debbie McCarten & onematt4youx4, "Forever ago" and "back in the day" were only 5 years ago. Who I was 5 years ago and what I believed in are pretty much the same as today. People don't change that drastically that quickly. It's time to realize that the only thing that changes that rapidly is in your microwave. Maybe that's why you believe that any war that lasts more than 1 1/2 weeks is too long.
RonBlack66, I couldn't agree with you and Todd Palin more. Maybe it is time to divy up this country. The division between the left and the right is astronomical. We just don't see eye to eye on anything any more.
I fear that this division is going to lead to a civil war, unless we split and go our separate ways. It's best to draw out the lines of two new countries without a single shot being fired than to do it after thousands of bodies are stacked up on either side.
I am sick of being called a racist because I don't agree with the policies of Obama and the Democrat Congress. I am tired of being attacked and being called weak, because I believe in God. I'm tired of having the left tell me that my freedom to practice religion infringes on their rights. I am tired of judges overruling laws that the people vote into law. I am tired of it being called a "woman's choice" when she murders her own baby. (I think we are the only species that a mother does that to her own young.) I am really tired of the extreme division between the Right and the Left. I would venture to say that I am not alone in feeling this way.
An amicable peace accord could be drawn up between our two countries. We would likely stick with the constitution this country currently has as a place to start. We need to go back to government that represents the people (being for the people and by the people). The Left can rewrite theirs completely and incorporate a government that controls everything and supplies them with everything.
All this likely sounds absurd, but in reality it is likely the only way that will spare this country from a bloody confrontation.

Hey Joe the IT guy...What about the 15 year relationship that Janus McCain has with Khalidi? HMMM? 300thousand dollars for polling studies and 500thousand dollar grant in 1998! what about that JOEY??? Palin and McCain both ranted about Obama's relationship but failed to mention this! They are both insufferable hypocrites and anyone who supports them is a few french..sorry(freedom) fries short of a Happy Meal! How is your frie supply bub? If you want to know what Janus McCain and Palin are guilty of then just listen to what they accuse Obama and Biden of! I am Joe the silkscreener and I will have a clean conscience on Nov. 5th.! I am Joe the SilkScreener and I endorse this message!
Just another example of the DEMOCRATIC smoke and mirrors campaign. Not much different from the Republican campaign. Those supporting the Democratic position should be deeply disappointed. After all, aren't the Dems supposed to be the agents of change this time. How laughable, this Democratic position, if there were any honesty in this campaign, then the Dems should release the tape. Or is the Democrat position based upon smoke and mirrors, surely does look that way. What a sad state of affairs in American politics, when there is not complete truth out there on the campaign trail. I would say this reluctance to show this tape may signal that the Dems and the Republicans really aren't that different. And of course, we are seeing, perhaps too late, that there really is no agent of change, maybe in 2012, but not this election. Remember, the truth will set you free.

i am a bit confused...
is obama a harpo marxist or a groucho marxist?
there is a differnece ya know.
They plan to release the tape the same day McCain releases his war record!
While McCain was fighting your our freedom and liberty and justice, what was Obama doing, and who was he doing it with? Ayers, Wright, bombing and damming our country! Makes me sick! Wonder how much money a year will be considered too rich, and your hard earned money is given to illegals, etc. They get a drivers license to blow up our loved ones, vote without proper identification/addresses when our military and honest people have to prove their status. Why are there more voters than adults in some places? Acorn is another good start at where to google! May God Bless America.
It must be some pretty incriminating footage if they won't release it. If it's no big deal, then there shouldn't be a problem showing it to the American people.
Sounds like Barack has a few more friends of questionable character.

Who cares about the tape or who obama hung out with back in the day! We never cared about that or who mccain was partners with back in the day! What is he today is the question!!
It's not a matter of who he hung out with. Allegedly, this tape includes a part in which he states that "Israel has no God given right occupying Palestine" and that "The Israelis are committing genocide against the Palestinians." So, THAT might make a difference with Jewish voters. Lot of Jews in Florida.
The Times can clear him and prove once and for all that he's not a closet anti-semite by releasing the tape and showing how he reacts at this function. If he IS anti-semitic on some level, then I think the American voters should be informed of that so they can factor that into their decision as to whether or not they'll vote for him. Don't you?
McCain thinks he is still in some pow camp and that people are after him. He is too paranoid to be president. Do people know what a paranoid president will do with this country?
Is that the best McCain/Palin can do? Didn't McCain send a birthday card to a known Mafia member. Didn't Palin just this year speak at a function for the group that advocates secession fron the United States.
Obama/Biden 08

And Todd Palin was a seven year member of the AIP too, a seven year member of an anti-American group. Release the tapes Todd !

I'm confused. What are they even accusing Obama of? Are they accusing him of going to a party that a Palestinian man was at? Really? Guilt by association because he knows people from the middle east, now? At least when they were claiming his relationship with Ayers was inappropriate, there was something Ayers had done that could be pointed to. But, now, it's simply that the relationship is inappropriate because the guy is from the Middle East? How crazy-racist can McCain's campaign get?

All I need to do is listen to his supporters to know that this crowd should NOT be put in a position of power. Anyone that disagrees with them is a socialist, terrorist, sexist, running dog unAmerican traitor. No thanks. That is as close as I need to get to any guilt by association.

assuming you are from AZ..what has McCain done for us? I live in Phx and this city is in ruins..its ugly, dirty, it never rains here anymore because of all the concrete, energy issues, water issues, highest arrests (most innocent kids and young adults), jails that are cruel ...and he thinks he can run a country.
I invite every one to live in AZ for a few months and see how "well" off you become. Unless you make over $250, your neighbor is a meth dealer or a coyote, your house is in foreclosure, no jobs because of a huge illegal immigrant population who will work for pennies (McCains buddies love the cheap labor, Ive asked), and anunemployment office ran out of India...a sheriff/city police who will lie about anything to arrest you..and a county attorney under investigation for only trying cases that have "appeal" even to the point of making up the crime and then selling it to a judge. ...
Reps enjoy your "America" if McCain wins.

DavidH--"Seccession is every states (sic) right'? We had a small war over that. It was called the Civil War and it pretty well established it isn't every state's right to leave the union if they don't like it. There's a Supreme Court decision on that too. It's called Texas v. White, 1868. It says secession is illegal and could not and did not happen. I find it hard to believe that someone has to point this out to you.

One can only hope that Alaska, along with Palin and her lapdog, Todd, will susceed successfully from the lower 48.
No way! Alaska is super pretty. I'm not giving up the moose just yet.
DavidHnAZ, "jails that are cruel"? Oh my gosh! NOT That! We need kinder, gentler jails. LOL This might sound pretty crazy, but maybe if all jails were similar to Tent City it might be a bit more of a deterant. (Now you know where I am from, too!)
McCain for president might not be my first choice, but he's definitely better than Obama. I would have to say that Janet Napolitano is much more at fault than McCain. The only good thing that I could see out of Obama winning is the fact that we would likely get rid of her. However, I'd rather be stuck with her as governor for another session than have that Karl Marx II in office.
Maybe she could rename a few more mountains and freeways and then make up shell out tons of denaro to page for the new signage. Our tax dollars hard at work!
I think Texas is the only state in the Union that can legally secede. However, with the divisions between the Left and the Right that there are now, it would be nice if we could secede. Unfortunately, that would take another civil war. It would be a short one, because Democrats don't believe in the right to own and bear arms.
- 1 vote
Well said, Bob 1968. If Texas were able to secede, then this would be a great place to start. Unfortunately, Texas cannot secede. Texas has two rights. First, Texas can legally fly its flag at the same height as the American flag out of respect for their former status as an independent nation. Second, Texas can legally divide itself into UP TO five separate states, leaving one as "Texas". If Texas were to choose this option, I'm not sure what the status of the other states would be, or whether those other states would be binded by U.S. law. If not, then Texas could divide itself into 2 states, call Texarkana the new Texas and leave it for the U.S., then secede the remainder of the state to form their own country.

Palin's membership in the treasonist AIP -- Joe Volger and his anti-Americans rants would be the new Rev. Wright;
The rally where Palin roused her rablle to KILL HIM and SIT DOWN BOY would be played daily on the news;
Palin's expense account fraud investigation; abuse of power investigation; builder fraud investigation;
The clothes that she did not pay for and the hair and make- she does not pay for (when Edwards had to repay $800 to the dem party for haircuts);
Palin's pipeline conflict of interest issues;
The fact that her husband worked as her unelected co-governor and got a paycheck from her administration for taking care of his own kids would be on the news;
The librarian Palin fired for saying no to Palin;s book banning desires would be all over the news;
The lawsuit Paling brought against the national government to get the polar bear off the endagered species list so BIG OIL could drill baby dril them to extinction;
McCain's involvement in the Keating Five;
His Iran-Contra terrorist connection;
How many planes he crashed would be on the news;
His legendary violent unstable temper would be on the news daily;
Etc.
If the media were not owned by the Republican War Machine all the above and more would be on the news all the time.
Can you just imagine the news if these things were true of Obama?
Are you still distracted by Obama's birth certificate or have you moved on to an issue or two?

Why do all these political blogs seem racist?!?! Why do McCain/Palin rallys seem to sound more and more like the KKK rallies of the early and mid 20th century?? You all can’t be that obtuse!!! Inciting other 'whites' to hate and to violence is what they do!! McCain/Palin are unprincipled, undisciplined racists!!!
Is no one listening to the fact that they are counting on the 'older white votes'!! PEOPLE!!! This is not subliminal coding!! It's outright stating that they want those older voters that would never vote a 'nig*er' into the WHITE house!! Hasn't this country been divided enough!! You all with your nit picking and subtle racist comments disguised as support for one candidate over another. How about calling laying it on the line?! McCain is an old racist and Palin is a younger racist!! Period!! Call the pig a PIG!
Vote McCain/Palin: vote for a lying duo that is actively trying to divide this country more profoundly by race than it is already divided. Vote for Obama; vote for a man swimming through the crap of generations while still trying to love his neighbor all whilst trying to get the rest of us heathens to 'believe' we can be better than we are now!
Why are we not talking about Todd Palin being a terrorist and why is a woman running for VP whose husband is currently tied to a terrorist group that has NO PROBLEMS committing TREASON against the USA by stealing Alaska! And how many married women don't support their men?? It should be FAIR to say that Sarah is ‘Palling’ around with a terrorist in her own right if she supports Todd in his domestic terrorism! Conceded: Palin is cute but she’s dumb as a box of rocks even though she can talk a good gameK Paris Hilton is a much stronger choice for VP for ‘obvious’ reasons!!
I’m a vet of 24 years and McCain is an embarrassment!! If Obama = Socialist then McCain/Palin = KKK. I'm for no more ‘strange fruit’ swinging from trees under McCain/Palin! Why fear the educated black man when it’s REAL easy to fear the dumb, unethical, barely educated racists!! What the hell has being a POW got to do with being a good President anyways?!?! Some of you just can’t help being racist to the core! Fear the unknown and hate all not like yourselves. And some of you actually call yourselves Christians. What a JOKE!! I’m sure Sarah will have no problem leading the ‘Witch Hunt’!!

No birth cert issue here... I am just tired of paying more than half of my paycheck to taxes at every level, fed, state, local, while whats left barely covers the bills (gas, utilites, credit card interest). Everytime we have had a democrat as president since Jimmy Carter, I have seen my taxes go out of any reasonable range (yes been paying taxes since Jimmy Carter), so I guess I tired of the same empty promises from democrats.

talk about double standards, did you not see the gang of lawyers the McCain camp sent up to block a now jodged legal investigation into Palin's abuse of power? do you know how much it cost the Media to obtain a copy of only PART of Palin's emails to her aides? 15 million dollars. Palin could have released those emails with the first batch of emails checked, but instead she decided to hide behind the Alaskan Government. So until the details of Palin's transgressions among her staffers and husband come to light, don't whine about the press protecting their sources.

Joe the IT GUY,
You're so off base..Why doesn't the media show the tapes of Palin being exorcised from witchcraft? I've seen it..It's a true story..Why doesn't the media show Sarah giving a keynote speech at the Alaska Independence Party's 2008 Convention? You know, the same group that "hates America" and wants to secceed? The one that says it has no need for our laws? I've seen it. It's a true story.. Why don't they show this stuff? Because it's not pertinent. Despite your Party's constant attacks on Ayers, Wright, and a whole littany of other bulls**t, your smears haven't worked..What makes you think this will? And McCain has given the Organization 100's of thousands of dollars..
Instead of trying to tear down Obama with fears and smears, why doesn't McCain detail his plans to help America and the middle class? What, he has no plans you say? You have every right to believe as you wish, but WE WILL NOT BE SWAYED BY THE FEAR THIS YEAR. It worked in 2000 and 2004, but no more..

Again, you are wrong Dian Larkin. The media CNN, MSNBC, NBC, CBS are all left wing. If you look at who runs them and what party they belong to you will find out they are democrats. There are so many things that these stations do not report about Obama because they make him look bad. Did you know that Obama's camp banned a Florida news station from any more interviews with anyone in the Obama camp because they asked Joe Biden tough questions regarding comments Obama has made that are Marxist. He said that Obama never said those things but they had the video to back up the proof. Now the Obama people have banned them. So much for letting the people know the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. Obama people only want people to see what they consider the good stuff and try to bury everthing else.

Joethe IT Guy,
There is no way you are paying over half of your paycheck to taxes. I can't even imagine it for someone making over a million. It just doesn't add up. Most people end up paying far less than their top tax bracket in income taxes, and SS and other taxes would not take you over 50%. Either you are extremely wealthy, where you comment about not being able to pay the bills is a lie, or you are lying. Joe, stop the lying. Make your argument on facts and reasoned opinion. I have been paying taxes since before jimmy Carter, which was the first election I ever voted in (I voted for Ford). The notion that every time a Democrat was in office your tax bill went up is also a joke. I am so tired of the lies.

Shawn- please don't fill this blog with false information! First, my 401K is taxed when I take the money out of the account. Under Obama, the plan calls for taking the tax out before the money is invested...As the plan that is in place now, you can take money out without being taxed, but it is a percentage of what you have invested and it is also considered as borrowing! There is percentage rate charged and it is almost nothing. I think that you find Obamas plan as a benefit? Even though you have less money to invest in the account and you reap the same benefits as you do now. If you are taking 10K out and you don't have enough money to cover the percentage allowed now, THEN YOU SHOULD NOT BE TAKING THAT MUCH MONEY OUT IN THE FIRST PLACE! Did you not learn anything about living outside your means lately?

your 401k will not be taxed under Obama he mentioned it during a debate as 1 of the things him and McCain agreed on during these times Obama suggested it and your boy McCain followed suit will they do it is left to be seen! but it was part of the rescue package Obama is trying to immediately get out to people i am not lying about that!

Put simply, if you have $100,000 in an Roth IRA, having those higher Obama rates in place would reduce your nest egg by $1600. If, though, current law remains in effect, you'd get another $9000. That's a $10,600 difference to your retirement.

Shawn stay with me here...I know there are no pictures, but all the same this should give you something to chew on...
WASHINGTON, Oct 23, 2008 /PRNewswire-USNewswire via COMTEX/ -- *** Lowering the Corporate Income Tax Rate Would Boost Your Nest Egg's Size Immediately ***
Americans for Tax Reform (ATR) today reminded Americans that one of the best ways to boost the value of their 401(k) plans is to cut the U.S. corporate income tax rate, the second-highest in the developed world.
According to the Investment Company Institute, two-thirds of 401(k) balances are held in stock or stock mutual funds. Stocks are priced based on their after-tax value. So, the amount of taxes companies and shareholders have to pay affects the value of your 401(k).
One of the most onerous taxes dragging down the value of investments in your 401(k) is the corporate income tax. With the federal rate at 35 percent, the U.S. imposes the second-highest corporate income tax rate in the developed world (behind only Japan). Even worse, the U.S. seeks to impose this high corporate income tax rate not only on U.S. profits, but on profits earned all over the world.
"Politicians need to know that taxes are a cost," said ATR President Grover Norquist. "When you're talking about people's nest eggs, these costs exact a real price. The corporate income tax, no less than capital gains and dividends taxes, drive down the value of every American's 401(k)."
ATR, in partnership with Rutledge Capital, has launched the "2008 Election 401(k) Tax Calculator" so that Americans could input the value of their nest egg to see what effect tax policy changes had on their 401(k) value, including corporate rate cuts.
The "2008 Election 401(k) Tax Calculator" can be found at atr.org Since it's a widget, it can be uploaded on any blog or website, and has been accessed nearly 100,000 times since its launch earlier this month.
"Senator Obama is happy to keep our second-highest on the planet corporate tax rate right where it is," concluded Norquist. "Senator McCain wants to cut the rate from 35 to 25 percent, right in line with our European competitors."
- 3 votes
again your off way off
McCain isnt cutting anything for anyone at all! same ole same ole he just said it today in florida he has no intentions for people of real america! and during the debates Obama did say he didnt want to tax up to that dollar amount on people investments etc...
and your talking about taxes on the richiest people and ceo's of the world your crazy!
you dont make millions of dollars or 250k and Obama is saving us way more money than mccain!

Joe the IT guy - hey in case you haven't noticed we all pay taxes. Cindy MC Cain paid 26% on her more than 4 million income. I pay 25% on my $80K income. Now it sounds like you live on the east coast where they even stick you with a city tax. If you are fed up move to a no tax state, there are a few around. I am tired of all the tax I pay going to stupid BUSH's IRAQ war - we need the money in this country - we do not need to be sending trillions to IRAQ like MC Cain said - you know 100 years if we have to!! That is where your money went along with mine! Bush was like a teenager with their first credit card - he took care of all his buddies!!

Shawn, I don't make $250k a year but I still pay nearly half of my pay to taxes in one form or another, fed, state, local, sales tax, ain't much left after that
I remember Bush 2 saying exporting jobs was good for America, and that it would create an environment/cause Americans to get educated for higher paying technical jobs. Didn't happen, huh? Think McCain has something different?
McCain has spent the entire campaign telling me why I shouldn't vote for Obama. He hasn't said squat about why I should vote for him. It's like my co-worker who only refers to Obama as "The Black Guy." He's not voting for McCain-he's voting against Obama. There's a difference. Today, he tried to convince me if Obama was elected, America was going to be like the scenario in "1984" by Orson Wells. All this fear-mongering about the "end of America" is just that. Science Fiction.
If the American political system can instigate impeachment procedures for "wonking" in the White House and lying about it, do you really think offenses on the magnitude of "treason" would be ignored?
Please...go home and FRY something.

Well, I do think we may see a repeat of the peanut farming scenario of the 70s, let us hope not. Both candidates must resist the urge to spend money to buy votes once they are elected, because realistically isnt that what happens. We all need to live more within our means and actually save money. At least the normal people that live outside of that fantasy world in Washington, thats financed by the average American. Bush spent too much, and now Im sure both Obama and Mc Cain would spend far too much, as they will be thinking ahead, to ensure that they are reelected in 2012. Shucks, and to think being part of public office should be all about serving the average American. That premise is long gone, maybe a new set of candidates in 2012 could really address this basic, yet so important tenet.
Shawn,
I went to Obama's tax calculator. I entered $100,000-$150,000 and filing status of "single". According to Obama, I get ZERO tax savings. This is a far cry from $200k/yr. Try these numbers yourself and you will see. So now we've gone from $250k/yr to $200k/yr to $105k/yr....AND HE'S NOT EVEN ELECTED YET.
At this rate, by the time he takes office on January 20th, he will be increasing taxes on anybody making over $40k/yr. We are teetering on the edge as a nation. If he pushes us over, there will be a revolution in this country. And only one side believes in owning guns. Maybe the other side can hold them off by throwing their high heels, flowers, and picket signs like grenades, but I doubt it. Be careful of the revolution and anarchy that you desire. The other side might not stop when you say that you give up.
If Khalidi is sooooo bad, then John McCain needs to own up to why his organization pumped so much money into the Palestine Center for Research and Study. I guess it's only natural that, given how far behind he is, he's grasping at anything to bring Obama down, but shouldn't he try something that he's not personally involved with himself?

Most people think The MCCain campaign camp should come out with a statement explaining, why MCCain gave $448;873 to Khalidi's Center for Palestine Research.

I agree. This is more doaming than attending a function. This could be a curse against Isreal! Mccain is going to destroy Isreal!

ok, so they accuse barack of being anti-israel just because he has a palestinian friend? a palestinian-american who is a critic of israel supposedly is the reason why we can not trust barack obama? how racist and ignorant can you get?
memo to john mccain and sarah palin... there are numerous critics of israel who happen to be very respected scholars/professors. many of whom are jewish. need an example? how about noam chomsky.
this is just a very ignorant tactic of trying to use fear against jewish voters. oh my GOD! barack has a palestinian friend! you can not trust him! we have to be pro-israel all the way. it just proves that you need the jewish vote and support in order to be president in this country. such a taboo subject, but why are they talking about barack and a palestinian friend with one more week to go before elections? also, what happened to the economy crisis we are currently facing? can mccain and palin please address the real issues we face as a country.

Amen to that- Palestinians have every right to talk negative about Israel the mere fact they have been under Israel oppresive occupation for 41 years is reason enough
Not to mention the 500+ check points, daily incursion killing Palestinians and stealing their land under the guise the land was given to them 2,000 years ago by God
- 4 votes
Just because someone is against Isreal doesn't make them pro holocaust. Think about that. The way people are talking, it seems as if Palestinians are not the equals of Israelites. What ever happened to "all men are created equal" does it stop at American borders? talk about hypocrasy.

If we weren't so pro-Israel, 9/11 would not have happened. Thats the real truth no one in the media wants to touch. Ask why Arabs are so mad at the US, it all goes back to our biased treatment of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Can we not forget the IMAGE of GW BUSH walking HAND in HAND with the KING of
Arabia shortly after 9/11....and the Saudi Arabians are not the CLOSEST FRIENDS of
Israel either and the fact that the Bush's have been friends with King Fahd for over 30
years....I don't recall ever HEARING McCain DENOUNCE BUSH....as a matter of fact he
SUPPORTED Bush 90% of the time. I guess If you are Bush it's ok to be friends with
Muslims.....McSenile has LOST IT COMPLETELY
- 5 votes
Exactly!! Least anyone forget, go rent out Farenheit 911. See the actual footage there.

You play the so called racist card so many times, and that is what has made this a polarizing election. Get off your high horse, its not uncommon to assume that the republicans have been considered a little more friendly to Israel than the Democrats, its for the most part common knowledge. Who cares about farenheit 911, as an independent I would give it no more credit than if a fervent Republican made a movie and put forth his views, so what.
McCain also has ties to Khalidi through a group that Khalidi helped found 15 years ago. The Center for Palestine Research and Studies has received more than $800,000 from an organization that McCain chairs.

This is why McCain will lose the election. He always brings up things and then you find out he has been doing the same thing and more for years......
I love McCain's sparkling record:
- Keating Five
- Liddy (Watergate) Association
- 90% voting support with Bush Administration policies
- Selection of Sarah "Abuse of Power" Palin

Hey Joe the IT guy...Name ONE example! just ONE example of Hate coming from the Obama camp!....YOU can't because there are NONE! except the ones that were FABRICATED by the McCain Palin 4th Riech! There are none ! I watch as much as humanly and inhumanly possible and I read the Web news and blogs I have seen NOT ONE example of this ALLEGED HATE from the Obama Biden camp Hate from BOTH sides indeed! in my town the only signs that get stolen, destroyed and defaced are OBAMA/BIDEN signs!..not McCain signs! anyone who has 2 brain cells to fire together can figure the reason why, It's because most McCain supporters are frothing at the mouth right wing redneck whackos! and because Obama supporters are far above such childish criminal acts! I'm Joe the Serigraphic Technician (SilkScreener) and I approve this message of FACTS!
how come no one is bringing up the fact that mccain and his campaign manager helped the russian get on hold and control montenegro (spelling) aluminum industry that controls most of its financial market? it is funny how it is ok for the press not to talk badly about mccain but they need to bring irrelevant issue about obama and it is funny how mccain no longer brin up acorn now that him and his people are associated with real voter fraud... why don't the news papers tell us if mccain or his campaign were directly or indirectly involved in those voter frauds?

What is this idiot talking about? Where has he been? The privacy of newspaper sources, dr.s with patience and attorneys with clients is something that no court has ever violated. It is probably one the few constitutional rights the court does get right. So now he thinks he is going to be the first one to break the chain? Oh, and if I understood the article correctly, he to has ties to this person. If McInsane don't stop lying and ranting and raving he is going to bust a blood vessel. He needs to get off the trail now, his health is not worth a campaign.

I don't think they are trying to do that, in fact, the LA Times refusal to release it is amplifying their rhetoric Obama has "pet" news papers that are "protecting" him. We still aren't stupid folks, give it UP!!
- 1 vote
Actually newspapers do have some kind of duty to report the news, and both sides of the story, or else they could be known as being bias. I dont think this is illegal, but then again Im not sure I would support and news source that just states one side of the story, as is it really an impartial news source. Just a thought, I prefer to see all blemishes and good things out in the open. Isn't America an open society, as an aside why dont these news sources post all relevant concepts in regards to both Obama and Mc Cain, so that the reader is well informed and can make his own judgement.
If you are campaigning for the #1 and #2 positions and you don't have real ammunition, it is apparent you will stoop as low as you can go. I read on the internet that the commander of the Vietnamese interment camp and John McCain had some very nice conversations...is that reason to accuse him of being in cahoots with the North Vietnamese during the war? C'mon. Pull your heads out of your butts and get a grip on reality.

mccain and palin want more friends like joe the plumber, tito the builder, jack the butcher, bob the painter, john the logger, paul the carpenter, bill the barber,...
but no khalidi the professor. he sounds foreign and educated. scary. dangerous.

Soo as Bush puts a collective arm around his friends the Taliban and sits down with them I guess Mccain should tell him to set up some conditions?
- 2 votes
Oh please, every news station and paper slant the stories depending on who they are supporting. To insinuate that any of them are non-biased is a falsehood. Palin said she wished they had a "pet newspaper" or whatever? Hey, you do, just watch the Fox Network, and they aren't the only ones. But enough of this BS! McCain and his org contributed money to this organization, so where does he get off accusing Obama of anything? Bottom line is he and Palin continue to use the "fear" tactic. Thank goodness its not working with most, and for those who are falling for it, WAKE UP. Make an intelligent and informed decision on your own. Stop blindly falling for what McCain and Palin are feeding you. I'm not saying Obama is perfect, but heck, McCain and Palin scare me the most.

Under McCain's leadership, the International Republican Institute gave 0ver $838,494 to Khalidi's group in 1988 and 1999, according to the IRS. Why isn't McCain talking about that?
Is it only wrong for Obama to have any remote contact with this group but not McCain? McCain is really a sick man. He needs help!

at the risk of violating the code of honor....LMAO!
While McCain is calling for things to be released, he should consider:
1) His own associations with Dr. Rashid Khalidi. They are very similar to those of Sen. Obama except that he was instrumental in giving him money in addition to praise.
2) The records of a 1964 auto accident in which another man was killed by a DUI McCain. DoD has permanently sealed these rrecords "for reasons of privacy" and rebuffed FoI requests by Vogue magazine and others to release them.
2) The records of Dod regarding McCains compromise of classified information to the Vietnamese (and by proxy, the Russians and Chinese), especially that regarding rescue aircraft, ships and helicopters and methods used by downed pilots to authenticate themselves to rescuers. Both the Viernamese and fellow prisoners referred to McCain as "Songbird." These records have been permanently sealed by DoD "for privacy reasons."
3) Compaints about the intervention of McCain's father (a four-star admiral) on McCains behalf to keep him from being washed out of Annapolis. These complaints have been permanently sealed by Annapolios administration "for privacy reasons."
4) The Vietnamese "Blue Files" which are transcripts and tape recordings of McCain's interrogations as a POW. The Vietnamese government permanently sealed these files at the request of Sen. McCain in 1993 in return for the senator's support of a trade agreement. Many POW/MIA families are still upset that they are denied information that could shed light on the fates of their loved ones.
5) McCain's personal finance records for his involvement with Charles Keating. Charges against McCain were dropped after Cindy McCain testified that she kept the family finances and had "lost" all the family's records for the years that McCain was dealing with, and accepting favors from, Keating. Maybe those records are still around somewhere but "sealed" "for privacy reasons."
6) The records of McCain's four aircraft loses. While all three non-combat losses and the one total damage incident were ruled "pilot error", the investigation reports were permanently sealed by DoD "for privacy reasons." Usually one error resulting in the loss of an aircraft or severe damage thereto is usually6 the end of a military pilot's flying career. How did McCain return to flying status each time afterward? Could it have been daddy's influence. We'll never know --- those records are permanently sealed.
7) McCain's relationship with ACORN. There are not only ties to ACORN voter registration, but to other community organization effoerts as well. McCain was a keynote speaker at an ACORN convention and has sponsored legislation on their behalf.
8) And last but not least, Palin's medical records ---- she said they would be released, but where are they? What are they trying to hide? If she is indeed healthy and never injured, what could possibly be there that would cause her not to want to release them? Perhaps the National Inquirer is right and she caught an STD from Todd's business partner when she had her affair. After all, they were right about Edwards.
I would think McCain might want to get his own "releasing the facts" house in order before calling on the L.A. Times to do so.

Thanks Chris 537131 for your response. In times like these McCain/Palin are the ones to worry about...skinheads are thrilled with this type of response...they see the election of Senator Obama as the perfect forum for their group to say, "See our predictions have come true." Hopefully we all will make it thru the next 6 days and Senator Obama will have an overwhelming win to silence these people.
Wow. You want to talk about conspiracy theories. Maybe you should get out of bed, give your boyfriend Timothy Leary a kiss, and go protest the Vietnam War some more. Did John Mc Cain seal his negotiations with the Aliens also?

It seems there are a lot of loonies out there that gravitate with McSame and Dingbat Palin. Aside from that wacko woman who beat and scarred herself up and made false accusations, here are another 2. We don't need this. And it has to stop.

We could also add to the list Palin's price tag of $15 million dollars for just a small portion of her administration's emails. No wonder she had such a high approval rating, none of the state media outlets could afford her price tag.
dont forget the other 11.5 million she spent on building a hockey ring in her hometown of wassilla which the town holds about ummm 5000 people.
then flying her kids around on tax payers dollars oh by the way she is getting some heat for that and her 150k shopping spree she is trying to denounce and say she isnt wearing those clothes anymore! excuse me if i laugh lol............ thats bull but her list goes on and on........

Chris:
just stumbled on 2 new ones on McCain . He has been associated with David Ifshin an expatriot who denounced the US on Radio Hanoi. He gave an eulogy on the death of Ifshin. In addition, William Timmins, McCain lobbyist and part of his transition team, worked with Saddam Hussein to attempt ease international sanctions against his country. Timmins also was involved in contracts to buy and sell Iraqi oil with 2 other individuals who were convicted of federal criminal charges as unregistered lobbyists for Saddam's govt (S. Vincent and T. Park)
without mentioning names in H of the COH, some of the responses to the excellent excellent work done by Chris in his post were pretty vapid, but what a well written report by Chris! meat, taters, and gravy!
"If there was a tape of John McCain in a neo-Nazi outfit, I think the treatment of the issue would be slightly different," McCain said in an interview with Hispanic radio stations.
Will these 2 anti-Americans ever stop? This whole nonsense of if you can't win on your issues, then assinate your opponent has got to stop. It is anti-American. McCain & Palin are acting like 3rd World rebels trying to illegally take over a country.

DESPSERATION!!DESPERATION!! Unbeleivable, I have never seen people so desperate as these two McCain/Palin, and Evangelists-Republicans. I thought that in my country campaigns were negaative, but that is nothing compared to this. They think that God only loves them, that they are the only ones with values, faith, good families, good kids and parents, honesty, hard working, I could go on and on. I am a catholic Democrat, with great values that my parents thaught me, I am caring mother and wife and I have two great kids. I beleive in God and he loves and sees all humen beings as equals. McCain/Palin should stop all these nonsense. What can Americans expects from these two after seeing the way they managed their campaign, I couldn't trust people like these, they are so desperate and angry, because a good man is ahead of them, he didn't do nothing wrong to harm them or our country.
How about Paliln friendship with the extremist Alaska Independent Party, I think Democrats are too nice not to release an ad about this, she even told them in a meeting "Keep up the good Work", she also was blessed by a witctcraft preacher, she kills animas for fun. She is dangerous too.

If the tape is for real then why won't they produce it. I do not believe it really exists I think fox news and MCCAIN are making idiots of themselves. Anyone can say guess what I have but oh I can't show it to you but let me tell you whats in it.. THis is bull
Read this:
During the 1990s, while he served as chairman of the International Republican Institute (IRI), McCain distributed several grants to the Palestinian research center co-founded by Khalidi, including one worth half a million dollars.
A 1998 tax filing for the McCain-led group shows a $448,873 grant to Khalidi's Center for Palestine Research and Studies for work in the West Bank.
The relationship extends back as far as 1993, when John McCain joined IRI as chairman in January. Foreign Affairs noted in September of that year that IRI had helped fund several extensive studies in Palestine run by Khalidi's group, including over 30 public opinion polls and a study of "sociopolitical attitudes.

Boy oh boy..it just never stops with these two! First, McCain better be careful becuase of his ties with Khalidi..oh wait, he was just a chair for The Center for Palastine Research and Studies. We shouldn't be cncerned with HIS associations, only Obama's. Secondly, the whole biased media thing is really getting tiresome..Like FOX News is truly "fair and balanced".. I migh have voted for McCain if he used better judgement on his running mate and didn't abandon maverick for whiner.
Its simple - you won't see this tape for the following reason. You MAY see a passive Obama - neither refuting the dialogue or agreeing - but thats BAD - a LEADER takes a position, has conviction and STANDS for what they believe in no matter how unpopular. Its a classic definition of leadership. My guess is you WON't see that. He is too accomodating to his audience in general. He want's to be your friend.
OR you MAY see a GENTLE nod of agreement - the kind you give when a friend tells you an off color joke that you don't like but you don't brow beat your friend over it and casually chuckle and change the subject. Again NOT what or how you want your PRESIDENT to act on such a sensitive and important subject.
Now its easy to describe what happened and down play it as the LA times has done. However the VISUAL cues we are born to interpret and perceive - even subconciously are POWERFUL. Without seeing the video evidence the two parties can argue a classic he said she said issue. But SHOW us the tape and we will all KNOW what we see. Either a failure of leadership to voice the unpopular position or the passive "be everyones friend" dinner party guest.
EITHER behavior over a subject as critical as Israel is a disqualifying event and that is WHY you won't see this tape. I would even challenge the Obama campaign to release the tape - as a true leader sure of himself should demand, and let the people decide. I would guess with just a few days to go and $500 million spent even Barack lacks the leadership and courage to show us himself.
Bottom line you will see it SOMEDAY - but by then if its damning of his character it will be too late.
I am undecided this election - however I expect my leaders to have conviction and belief in themselves. Barack you can win my vote by standing up and being counted - if not you may certainly lose it
Phil in AZ
Exactly...Release the tape! Every other pathetic attempt to discredit this intelligent well-loved statesman...has failed! This TACTIC only shows more fear from the old guard, who has lost touch with a nation they never knew existed. Actually, it is the failed policies of the current admin who is responsible for not having McCain in the White House!
Pastor Wright, Obama's middle name, Bill Ayers, The Overhead Projector & the McCain supporter who lied about the "B" written on her face by a black man, show the limits of what a person would do to remain in a state of fear and ignorance! The results of this election is a fair cry of Americans needing REAL CHANGE!! And a geniune TRUST for the Government who has sworn to protect its citizens. (Military included) This is...One nation under God...and to some (unfortunately)...its being proven!
